We know what Umera Ahmed’s writing skills combined with Baber Javed’s directing can do, having seen it in MeriZaat, but unfortunately, it’s not really standing out in QET. No extraordinary dialogue, no incredible acting, nothing.One thing that I’m still pretty pissed about is that we have NO IDEA what happened in the past. I mean, they keep showing these flashbacks, but in my opinion, they’re not really elaborating at all on what happened. I feel the need to compare QET with MeriZaat, since the two are so similar in concept. Episode 8 was the episode for MeriZaat, the one where the mystery of what Saba did (or lack thereof) to make her an outcast was revealed. QET, however, has not really made any progress as far as revealing the mystery goes. For the past 3 episodes, we’ve been stuck in present day wishing that Noor and Ayesha would just go to the UK already so we wouldn’t have to suffer through any more fighting between Moiz and his mother.So this is what’s happened in present day: Moiz (Faisal Qureshi), Ayesha (SaweraNadeem), Furhan (ZorainNizamani) and Noor (NeelamMuneer) head out to the UK. Before they leave, Moiz’s mom (Saba Hameed) comes out to say goodbye, giving Furhan some money as a farewell gift. Furhan gives it back, saying that he could only accept it if she did the same for Noor Appa, proving once again that he is the best character in this show. The others aren’t bad, they’re human, they make mistakes. But Furhan is a kid going through a lot right now, and yet he still manages to be sweet and caring, towards Noor no less, the sister who hates him.The crew reach UK, go to Moiz’s home, and Furhan shows Ayesha around the house.
